Construction of bridges within the alignment of the M-21 main road, completed in 2013.
This project marked the first application of the bridge launching method in Serbia. Seven bridges were constructed on the M-21 main road section Borova Glava – Uvac. The bridge structures consist of multi-span reinforced concrete frame systems. Typical spans are 14.00 m + approx. 17.00 m + 14.00 m and approx. 17.00 m. The superstructure has a solid cross-section and was executed using a prefabricated system with precast reinforced concrete elements. The bridge structures are designed as integral systems, with expansion joints and bearings provided only at the abutments.
Project type - Bridge
Employer – PE Roads of Serbia, Belgrade
Project value - 15.162.435,34 €
Completion - 2013.
Construction period – 30 months
Design documents – DB Engineering, Belgrade, Serbia
Total length of bridges – 17.5 km
Bridge No. 2 was executed using the incremental launching method, representing the first use of this technology in Serbia. Pier heights vary between 7.70 m and 18.10 m. Segment weights range from 13.5 t to 17.0 t for intermediate elements and from 19.3 t to 25.0 t for end segments. Due to the complex roadway geometry, the precast bridge elements were designed to follow both horizontal curvature and transverse twisting of the deck.
